It’s time we gave our bedroom some love. Since receiving its basic {but drastic} makeover, 2 months before Lily was born, we haven’t really touched it.
When I say drastic, I mean ~ stripping wallpaper & plaster back to brick, panelling the walls, opening up the fireplace, adding new flooring & fitting an open-fronted wardrobe. Oh, and painting the whole thing in one natural shade of white.
I often add the odd vase of floral loveliness, but it really is a bit of a bare blank canvas…so I thought I’d share our thoughts & inspiration.
I’d love to add some colour to the walls, and while a bespoke mural is probably out of reach just yet, the colour pallets used here is so softly beautiful.
Another hanging rail would be handy, but space might not allow.
We’ll definitely be bringing texture into the room. I’ve always loved our bright white bedrooms, but without texture it can be a little plain & cool…so bring on a little frill! Not too much though, I don’t want to scare Ross, it’s v much our shared project.
The mix of wood on white is a box we’ve already ticked…with our vintage cherry drawer unit. We’ll definitely be keeping that, but its painted top has seen better days, so a re-fresh is in order.
Flowers, of course will be making an appearance, but so too will some greenery. We’ll see what Lily & I can gather from Cherry Hill park?!
Our mood board for the room is something like the above. Some dusky plum colours, dried florally loveliness, fabric & beads we used at our wedding 9 years ago, and a few precious photos. Look forward to showing you the results!
Happy weekend,
Jess x
